My name is Noah Brooks and I am asking for help because I am afraid of losing the little vision I still have.
When I was a child, I survived Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, a rare and potentially fatal disease that almost took my life. I survived, but it damaged my eyes and left me with very limited vision. I only have one good eye; the other is severely compromised.
Since then, my life has never been normal. Simple things that other people do without thinking are difficult for me. Reading, walking down the street, recognizing faces, moving around safely, cooking, working and living independently are a daily struggle.
